Emily Hendricks
Percussionist and Apple Distinguished Educator Emily Hendricks has been performing music for the past twenty years and teaching private lessons in the South Bay Area for about ten years. Growing up near Ann Arbor, MI, she played with the Southern Great Lakes Symphony, DSO Youth Civic Orchestra, Interlochen All-State Band and Orchestra and the Flint Symphony while in high school. While attending college at the University of Michigan (2002-2006), she played with the UofM Symphony Band and Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble and a jazz ensemble.
Emily received a BMA in percussion performance in 2006, studying under the auspices of Michael Udow, Michael Gould, Don Peterson and Brian Jones. After moving to San Francisco shortly after graduating, she led the percussion program at Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory in San Francisco for four years while working towards an MA in Educational Technology from the University of San Francisco. She has worked in educational technology since 2008 and has lived in San Jose, CA since 2017.
Emily currently splits her time working as an educational technology professional, podcast + music producer, post-production freelance editor and percussion teacher. She regularly performs as Principal Percussion in the Peninsula Symphony Orchestra.
